This is a generous stove; it has big fire box for plenty of fuel, it throws out 7kW of chilli hot heat on a cold winter’s night or a frosty Sunday morning….. and it lets you see it all happening. The generous wide screen glass gives you a wonderful big fire view. The simple styling means that the Penguin 7 works well in a fresh contemporary setting, but looks equally at home in a cosy, traditional room. The Penguin 7 only has one air control knob, which makes it really easy to use. The single air knob provides boost air when fully open, and finer control when further in. A tool is provided to use when the stove is hot.

This has always been the baby of the family, the Chilli Billie Gentoo (Generation 2-Gentoo…we couldn’t resist!) is still in no hurry to grow up. It likes chilling out… warming up… drying off and frying up. Found hanging out in small spaces like camping pods, yurts, beach huts, shepherds huts, sheds and studios. Also fond of little cottages and home that need a smaller heat output.
It has undergone a redesign to meet the Ecodesign criteria. We wanted to keep the essential nature of the Chilli Billie, with its little round porthole window but we are so excited that we have been able to introduce a few little extras at the same time, including an optional “food tube” for your week end brunches, lazy lunches, evening cook-ups and everything in between.
It is now front loading with the same stainless steel handle as the rest of the penguins. It has a stainless steel top plate as standard. The optional side shelves also have the stainless top. There are a selection of penguin heat shield enclosures. It is a bit wider than the original and the air controls are different.
COOKING with a CHILLI BILLIE: The Chilli Billie has a stainless steel top plate (oven top surface) fixed on top of the painted stove surface. You can fit a small saucepan or coffee pot and a small flat bottomed kettle on the top plate. If you order an optional food tube, (available in 2 sizes) you can cook food inside this. It is inserted into the aperture behind the firebox. The temperature is controlled by both the amount of fuel you use and the air introduced through the air controls. The stoves on anyway and you’ve paid for the fuel, …why wouldn’t you?

Chilli Penguin Chubby 5 Multi Fuel

This stove has the same fire box as the Short Penguin but it has grown in height and girth. The Chubby has an integral plinth which gives it the additional height and side convector panels which give it the extra width.
How do convector stoves work? These stoves are often chosen for their appearance and large top plate, which offers a wider surface for placing a kettle on. However the convector panels also have another purpose, they cause heat to move in a different way, making these stove particularly effective for heating large, well insulated rooms.
As hot air created by heat from the stove’s bodywork expands, it becomes lighter than the air outside the stove and rises up inside the
convector panels, exiting from the top of the panels. This is replaced by cooler heavier air drawn in at the bottom of the panels, which is in turn heated. The warmer, lighter air will fill the room while the colder, heavier air being drawn in at the bottom of the stove will create a continuous heat cycle, which gently moves air around the room.- Features a large glass viewing window
