This is a generous stove; it has big fire box for plenty of fuel, it throws out 7kW of chilli hot heat on a cold winter’s night or a frosty Sunday morning….. and it lets you see it all happening. The generous wide screen glass gives you a wonderful big fire view. The simple styling means that the Penguin 7 works well in a fresh contemporary setting, but looks equally at home in a cosy, traditional room. Chilli Penguin Billie Gentoo 4kW Wood Stove
Read moreRRP £1360.00
This has always been the baby of the family, the Chilli Billie Gentoo (Generation 2-Gentoo…we couldn’t resist!) is still in no hurry to grow up. It likes chilling out… warming up… drying off and frying up. Found hanging out in small spaces like camping pods, yurts, beach huts, shepherds huts, sheds and studios. Also fond of little cottages and home that need a smaller heat output.
It has undergone a redesign to meet the Ecodesign criteria. We wanted to keep the essential nature of the Chilli Billie, with its little round porthole window but we are so excited that we have been able to introduce a few little extras at the same time, including an optional “food tube” for your week end brunches, lazy lunches, evening cook-ups and everything in between.
It is now front loading with the same stainless steel handle as the rest of the penguins. It has a stainless steel top plate as standard. The optional side shelves also have the stainless top. There are a selection of penguin heat shield enclosures. It is a bit wider than the original and the air controls are different.
COOKING with a CHILLI BILLIE: The Chilli Billie has a stainless steel top plate (oven top surface) fixed on top of the painted stove surface. You can fit a small saucepan or coffee pot and a small flat bottomed kettle on the top plate. If you order an optional food tube, (available in 2 sizes) you can cook food inside this. It is inserted into the aperture behind the firebox. The temperature is controlled by both the amount of fuel you use and the air introduced through the air controls. The stoves on anyway and you’ve paid for the fuel, …why wouldn’t you?

Chilli Penguin Chubby 5 Multi Fuel
Read moreRRP £2135.00
This stove has the same fire box as the Short Penguin but it has grown in height and girth. The Chubby has an integral plinth which gives it the additional height and side convector panels which give it the extra width.
How do convector stoves work? These stoves are often chosen for their appearance and large top plate, which offers a wider surface for placing a kettle on. However the convector panels also have another purpose, they cause heat to move in a different way, making these stove particularly effective for heating large, well insulated rooms.
As hot air created by heat from the stove’s bodywork expands, it becomes lighter than the air outside the stove and rises up inside the
convector panels, exiting from the top of the panels. This is replaced by cooler heavier air drawn in at the bottom of the panels, which is in turn heated. The warmer, lighter air will fill the room while the colder, heavier air being drawn in at the bottom of the stove will create a continuous heat cycle, which gently moves air around the room.- Features a large glass viewing window

- The latest Cleanburn & Airwash technology

Chilli Penguin High & Mighty
Read moreRRP £2600.00
This stove began life as a Fat Penguin but then it kept on growing. In order to accommodate the log plinth, the side convection panels had to be extended. When we saw it’s new body, it seemed to take on a personality all of its own so we decided to give it its own name. This is a high functioning stove…and it knows it.
COOKING ON A PENGUIN
All our cooker models have an oven box and top plate (oven top surface). The oven temperature can reach up to 300°C, but it will tick over comfortably between 140-180°C. You can fit a small saucepan and kettle on the top plate. The oven is 100mm high and comes with an oven bottom shelf. It will fit a small casserole dish or two small loaf pans. We have cookware designed for our stoves available in our online shop.
CONVECTOR PANELS
Although often chosen for the look and large top plate which offers a wider surface for placing a kettle and saucepan on, the convector panels makes this stove particularly effective for heating a large, well insulated room. The convection panels make it a convector stove. As hot air created by heat from the stove’s bodywork expands, it becomes lighter than the air outside the stove and rises up inside the convector panels, exiting from the top of the panels. This is replaced by cooler heavier air drawn in at the bottom of the panels, which is in turn heated. The warmer, lighter air will fill the room while the colder, heavier air being drawn in at the bottom of the stove will create a continuous heat cycle, which gently moves air around the room.

Chilli Penguin Popty Stout
Read moreRRP £3030.00
Popty Stout is stout and proud, hardworking and grounded. This is a penguin to rely on. It has the Stock Cube firebox, a top oven box and side convector panels making it wider than the Popty Cube (Ciwb). In with that robust nature there is room for joy, it has all the friday night-waiting for you to come home -flavour of its dark and frothy namesake. We had to have a Popty series, welsh for oven. Who wouldn’t want to pop something in a popty? It is an old word possibly originating from the old shared bakehouses. “Pobi”, bake and “Ty”, house. We love the association with shared baking and perhaps stretching a hand back through the history to other generations who also cooked on solid fuel. Logs sit directly on the vermiculite bricks on the base of the stove, there is no need for a grate. It has a generous fire box, sized for logs 300mm long and an even more generous piece of glass, offering you a wonderful clear view of the roaring fire. It is beautifully simple to control, there is one air control knob. This is both the air boost, when fully extended and finer control when eased inwards. Wood burns better on a bed of ash, but when you do want to empty it, you just scoop it out from the base of the firebox. We have a tool called a “sgŵp” (pronounced scoop), available in our online shop, designed specifically for stoves without grates, like the Popty series.
The efficiency is 82.4%. It is an Eco design stove, suitable for use in smoke control zones.

Chilli Penguin Short 5kW Multi Fuel

Pre-heated air is introduced via channels and jets at the back of the firebox and above the door. The jets over the door are directed at the glass, creating a cushion of air, this is called an air wash. The combination of the clean burn features and the air wash result in a clear, uninterrupted view of the fire.
Our stainless steel handles have been re-designed to improve the feel of positive closure and to ensure that the handles remain vertical…we want our penguins to always look and feel good.
